Why do sad songs say so much?

Songs sung blue, everybody knows one

Take a sad song and make it better

People connect better/more with sad than with happy. I suppose you could think of it as a win for human empathy.

If you want to be an optimistic sort.

IMO: It conveys the song writers feelings at the time of loss. Just like writing or even myself using GIFS.
