Name or post a song that...

makes you cry or brings tears to your eyes.
It doesn't have to be a sad song. Just a song that brings out that emotion for whatever reason.

'Lady in Red' by Chris de Burgh
Oh, and 'Vincent' by Don McLean
@ffony

Vincent for sure.

@rinkydinkydoink Ah, you don't have a nostalgia about the red dress your lady wore on some romantic occasions long ago.
@ffony

I can't ever remember Gisela in red.

@rinkydinkydoink I have a photo of my wife at a dance long ago, wearing the silky red dress I remember so well. There's a hopeful guy leaning over the back of her chair, hands on her shoulders and peering down the front of her dress.

"I've never see so many men ask you to dance,
hoping for a little romance
- given half the chance ...." - Lady in Red; Chris de Burgh

@ffony Just had our 64th anniversary. Not all roses of course but here we still are.
@ffony

Congratulations to you both! My wife passed in 2019. It was 42 years for us.

@rinkydinkydoink Thanks and back at you with congratulations plus condolences. Was Covid involved? How are you feeling about 'life' now?

Amazingly, of the 6 pals I was really close with at school, all married for life. Only 2 now survive - classmates married to each other!
@ffony Thank you.

Not Covid. Life goes on. I'm not used to discussing such things on the net, if you don't mind.

About your friends - what are the odds of that situation happening at any other school with 6 buddies?

@rinkydinkydoink No problem maintaining as much internet discretion as desired. For my part I stay anonymous, assume others want to do so, and never post photos of people.

Odds of my 6 high school buddies all having lifelong marriages? I don't know. Maybe it was just the culture, time and place - middle class 50s-60s UK. Mutual subjection to high educational standards must have helped. We understood each other! And divorce was generally seen as failure; a disgrace.

I last saw them all in 2008. Sadly only 2 are still alive - but married to each other.
@ffony

I meant what are the odds of any group of pals - especially as many as 6 really close pals - all having lifelong marriages? Also keeping in touch with one another all those years!
