Brian Wilson Suffering From Dementia as Reps Seek Conservatorship

Brian Wilson‘s longtime business partners are seeking to become the Beach Boys singer’s co-conservators, weeks after the death of his wife, Melinda Wilson.

In a petition filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Wilson’s publicist Jean Sievers and business manager LeeAnn Hard said the 81-year-old musician has been diagnosed with a “major neurocognitive disorder” and is “unable to provide for his own personal needs for physical health, food, clothing or shelter.” Melinda, Wilson’s wife of 28 years, tended to her husband’s needs — but that came to an end when she died on Jan. 30 at age 77.

The petition also detailed the Grammy winner’s declining mental capacity. The singer’s psychiatrist, Dr. Stephen S. Marmer, revealed in a declaration also filed Wednesday that Wilson is taking medication for dementia and is incapable of self-administering medicine and sticking to his medication schedule.

Cocaine and alcohol will do that.

@NativePortlander1970 He’s been dealing with mental health issues from the very start and well I’m sure that his LSD phase wasn’t helpful… but yeah ok lol

@NativePortlander1970 ok sure. You failed to consider that alcoholic dementia is not the only kind of dementia. So you can accept it or argue with that fact. Either way you are wrong.

@NativePortlander1970 You’re trolling right ?! You know that people who have never had a drop of alcohol in their life get dementia right ?! Scary stuff
@Badjujubee Alcohol makes the risk rise exponentially.

@NativePortlander1970 ok doctor and ??
@Badjujubee Read the links, I'm sure the sources are extremely credible.

@NativePortlander1970 head injuries raise the possibility of developing dementia too. Still doesn’t make it so that everyone who has a head injury is going to get dementia just like everyone who has had alcohol is going to get dementia. I’m going to venture a guess that logic isn’t your strong suit lol. Not exactly captain of the forensics team were you ? lol 😝

@Badjujubee I have seen both alcohol AND genetic related dementia like crazy, my aunt's husband had nine siblings, ALL died of alcohol related dementia, except my aunt's husband who died in a blizzard related crash, their mother drank heavily while carrying them. The two genetic were my mother's cousimln and his mother, my mother's aunt.
