Ah, bless you and your father. I believe Steve Perry was Journeys' lead singer and he developed a throat/vocal cord disease is why he quit singing and why they stopped performing as Journey until this tour.

@WillaKissing Was that what Happened? I thought he had to have a hip replaced and standing on stage was very painful . 🤷🏻♀️
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@TexChik Yes, his vocal cords were affected, and he could no longer sing, and the rest of the band decided to honor him and not to seek a replacement singer and to move on without Steve, until this recent new tour and I am sure with Steve's blessings.

I saw Journey live back in the day I to see live.
Nothing like seeing a live band. But not spending big $$$ just to fund their retirement.
I see all the greats, including Led Zeppelin, Chubby Checker and many more play for a lot less money

Its great that you were able to make a memory like that with your father.
The last gig I went to was with my son an amazing tribute band from Italy called "The Watch".
They did a show based around a Genesis album called 'Selling England by the Pound'.
A recreation of very first gig I went to back in 1974.
It was amazing to share my first concert experience with my son..

I met Steve Augeri a few times he was vocalist after Steve Perry originally left. He was in a band with a drummer who is a good friend of mine.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
that's great!
there's nothing sadder to me than a group that is way past its prime still kind of rocking and bored to be there.
glad you had a good experience.

my favourite track by journey was 'who's crying now', love that song, a classic.
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
Faithfully is a fantastic song but sung Steve Perry not Arnel Pineda.
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
Faithfully is my favorite song from them also. Open arms is a close second.
