Rita Marley didnt call him a great family man in her biography

@Ozymandiaz that supposed to make any sense?
@Guitarman123 it will to someone with half a wit and a conscious

@Ozymandiaz if you say so. Sounds to me that you're just being emotional

I got to meet him on a few occasions,he came across with great humility.
His musical achievements were awesome and laid the foundations that will stand the test of time.
His spirit will continue to move us whenever we put on those solid Aggrovators,Tubby's,Black Ark or Liquidator records. Truly pioneering work. The man is gone but the music lives on.

Sly and Robbie are up there too.
Eleven kids, only three with his actual wife. 😳
@Guitarman123 And had nothing to do with him as
a "family man".

@bijouxbroussard that was his nickname before he had any children. He played a huge role in establishing bob marley as the most famous Jamaican musician

@bijouxbroussard I've had to try and reconcile my deep love for reggae and some of the backwards beliefs which still hold strong in Jamaica for quite a while now, with mixed results. If your music preaches human rights and justice...then that means all of humanity,I'm ready to call you out for hypocrisy if you're living otherwise.
Mr.Barret left a rich musical legacy and did try to get a slice of the riches from the Marley estate for his tribe, but was outgunned by the lawyers at Island records. It's a shame. Another reminder that talented artists are still people with flaws.I do see progress regarding misogyny in the next wave of reggae musicians,at least.
