Which states or cities or places have the best songs written about them ?

@Adstar The great thing about Ray Charles' George On My Mind is that it is the official state song -- not just the song itself, but the performer. Earlier in his career Ray refused to perform at a scheduled concert unless the audience was integrated, and he was essentially banned from performing in the state. The difference a decade or so can make.

@dancingtongue It's good that people can be won over to a better way.. But sometimes their efforts can be sabotaged.. There is an evil movement now called the woke movement who promotes segregation.. They don't want white people listening to or singing music created by black artists. They call it cultural appropriation and want to enforce segregation in all areas of cultural life..

@AdstarNo: 'Cultural appropriation' is something more like American military personnel playing 'the flowers of the forest' on tartan bagpipes. It takes many forms and can be seen as either complimentary or embarrassing; like hearing Mel Gibson trying to come across as William Wallace. 🙄
