I think Huey Lewis is underrated. He was a harmonica player to start out.

Haven't heard that for a while! To me, the band are indelibly associated with 'Back To The Future'
HairbrushDiva · 31-35, F
@supersnipe They still play "Stuck With You" and one or two others on the radio.

Their early work was a little too... New Wave for my taste.

But when Sports came out in '83, they really came into their own, commercially and artistically.

The whole album has a clear, crisp sound and a new sheen of consumate professionalism that really gives their songs a big boost.

It's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

In '87, Huey released Fore, Their most accomplished album.

I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square."

A song so catchy, that most people probably don't listen to the lyrics... But they should.

Because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of friends, but also a personal statement about the band itself.

@Sidewinder I think "Stuck With You" is their best from what I've heard. "If This Is It" isn't bad either.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@HairbrushDiva Huey Lewis also did the song "Once Upon a Time in New York City" for the 1988 Disney film, Oliver and Company.
HairbrushDiva · 31-35, F
@Sidewinder I haven't seen that movie or heard that song.

Not a huge fan, but no a bad band.
ShiftingGears · 46-50, M
They are great to see live

Yes, an olden goldie
That was the theme song for family trip when I was young.

Saw them in concert once, they were very loud
OverTheHill · 56-60, M
Huey Lewis has lost his hearing, so he is unable to tour anymore. 😞
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@OverTheHill Ironically, he said that Marty's band were just "too darn loud."
