How can you love someone, if they don't love Country Music?

Do you look for other ways, or look for more flaws...
helenS · 36-40, F
I look for good points. There's something good in (almost) everyone. It's because I'm a positivity girl!
Country music – ok I mean if someone loves country music they may have strong points somewhere else. 🤭

last year at the convention at the Similar World's merch table I thought I saw a t-shirt that was said you wore while dancing and it was very nice, and it verified the sweat was yours... I almost bought it but I didn't know you so I left it to the line-up of people I didn't recognize

@DarkHeaven Country was an occasional visitor to the UK hit parade when I was growing up. It made a change from regular pop. Don't mind it, even have one or two records from those days.
@supersnipe As a US country girl that grew up on a cattle ranch, I heard it a lot growing up but that being said… it’s not my favorite genre, although there’s a fair amount that I do like. I’m picky about music in general. I like the best of whatever I’m listening to.
IllThinkOfSomething · 26-30, M
Easily. Most country music is blazing garbage.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@IllThinkOfSomething but there is that good other percentage
IllThinkOfSomething · 26-30, M
@atlantic59 very little.
Yiiiiiii Haaaaaaaaa. Nuthin' like a pickup truck...a red MAGA hat and a third mortgage on a 1964 single wide mobile home.
@atlantic59 That's some out of bounds shit right there. Did you get your bet back?
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@MaBalzEsHari nope. It's all part of life's unfair disappointments
@atlantic59 Life is like that sometimes. The best we can do is cheat a widow.....or kill someone or something to get even.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Oh god I hate hate country music.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
The same Music taste isn't something I prioritize in a partner. We will find our songs but then we listen to our own music
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Queendragonfly you're a hard nut to crack. Exciting in many ways.
A problem in many others. The rich and strong will accept the challenge. The rest will fall by the wayside
RedBaron · M
Because I have no interest in it either.
helenS · 36-40, F
@RedBaron Some country songs feature fun lyrics, such as
"If The Phone Doesn't Ring It's Me"
"My best friend ran away with my wife and I miss him" 🤭
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@RedBaron no hat for you
RedBaron · M
@helenS Redneck gold.

I liked Floyd Cramer - that's about it.

Floyd Cramer played piano for stars such as Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, Patsy Cline, The Browns, George Strait, Jim Reeves, Eddy Arnold, Roy Orbison, Don Gibson, and the Everly Brothers, among others. It's Cramer's piano, for instance, on Presley's first national hit, "Heartbreak Hotel." However, Cramer remained strictly a session player, a virtual unknown to anyone outside the music industry.

My wife’s not a huge fan but she wasn’t exposed to much. We have lots of things in common, including music that is not country. I find it fun to expose her to stuff and push her boundaries a little. She does the same with me with R&B.
supersnipe · 61-69, M
I'm not that worried about an individual's tastes. Attitudes and values, plus a willingness to fit in with - and around - another person, are more important. It's nice to have some tastes in common, but not everything.
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
I sure don’t love it!! 😉😉
