Do the people around you influence the type of music you listen to?

I am definitely listing to a couple of different bands due to my housemates playing some of their preferred music around me.

I’ve discovered lots of new things including music from people around me. I do remember one gf who only listened to indie music. She would listen to it because it was indie. I like more mainstream top 40s and R&B music and stuff to dance too. I can’t stand it when a person makes being different from what is popular their goal in life.
