I wish The Beatles would have recorded more of Harrison's songs

His early solo albums were a lot of songs written during the years with the Beatles. It would have been nice to have heard how they sounded with the Beatles

as a Harrison fan I agree
I mean in beatles he's my favourite
And he's really underrated

@Raaii In any other band, Harrison is the marquee star performer. In the Beatles, he's 3rd fiddle.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Raaii it's hard not to be overshadowed by Lennon and McCartney

@Raaii My tribute band plays a bunch of his songs. Amazing how they've held up.

After reading some of McCartney's comments recently concerning the Beatles stuff it does seem pretty clear that both john and Paul saw the Beatles as 'their project'.
Perhaps not appreciating the added dimension George may have brought to the band had they made better 'use' of either his writing or vocals or guitar skills.

Does make you wonder though doesn't it ?
What got rejected or left on the cutting room floor

@Picklebobble2 The 1968 version of Not Guilty was in my head recently. Before Anthology or the box, it was a popular track on bootlegs in the 80s/90s
I agree, George was highly talented and if he'd been more active in the writing he would have only become more better.
As far as guitar he was a lot more talented than John &Paul.
Unfortunately his solo career wasn't as successful as the others.

This song was rejected for inclusion on the White Album, as noted below:

@Axeroberts it was finished but not included

@uncalled4 too bad. Could have replaced Martha. 🤣. But sometimes even a good song might not suit the album
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@Axeroberts True, it becomes a sequencing issue.

@SW-User definitely not the 5th Beatle
One of my favorite of their early songs was written by George.

@bijouxbroussard first Harrison song, ever. Not bad for a first shot, right?
George Harrison was exceptionally handsome, but why do many say he looked liked Jesus Christ? I think thats beautiful, my grandmother believed this also
graphite · 61-69, M
@WhisperinAngelic101 There are no photos of Jesus anywhere. George would wear his hair long and with a beard and mustache, he would resemble contemporary depictions of Jesus.

They did try All Things Must Pass. Not Guilty was a White Album outtake. Not sure the Fabs were always the best backing band for his songs.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@uncalled4 hard to say. But it would have been nice to hear more of his music with them anyway.

@uncalled4 Paul's bass line on "Something" was exquisite. Referred to as a "masterpiece" in this article.

@graphite Some people think it's busy. I can see that, but I love it.
George was screwed over and overshadowed.
