It's really hard to pick a favorite as best...Lee Perry in a small hall with a backstage invite from the soundman to hang out for a while was epic. Of the dozen or so Scratch shows I've seen, that might have been the strongest set, although emotions were running high at his first appearance back in the USA after 17 years.Mad Professor himself mixing the Robotics band leant an extra bit of gravity to that affair.
I often credit Fishbone as the best live band I've ever seen...and I stand by that statement. At the height of their powers, they ruled ! A few years ago I was telling Angelo Moore that they were to only band to send me to the ER~twice. We had a good laugh and he thanked me for not trying to sue them, haha.
Ummm,also Bad Brains. wow.
There has never been a live experience like Crash Worship in the 90's. Words fail to describe it.
Hanging out around a campfire with James Taylor and 3 other guys was a singular musical memory as well.
Seen many, many legends in big stadiums, but ummm, not my scene so much.
Best DJ set? Mungo's HiFi-4 hours straight,all killer,no filler.
oh,or Shinehead ripping the roof off a small club. Proper.
PS- I have a Goo Goo Dolls autographed CD (signed by the whole band) with a tote bag I can sell pretty cheap. They are very polite for rock stars.
