I envy people hearing Sinead for the first time

So many of my favorite artists are either long or recently gone, but I think this troubled woman being gone hits me close to home.

I found it very strange that Sinead converted to Islam, a religion that is far more misogynistic and abusive to girls and women in all ways than the Catholic church. She tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II, yet embraced Muhammed, whose favorite wife was a nine year old girl.

@Flowchart What I remember is that the general public often criticized Prince for his flamboyant performances, not realizing until after his death just how influential and prolific he was in the music scene, and as they always do after someone dies, started giving him false plattitudes, acting like they always knew.

@NativePortlander1970 He was definitely criticized for being flamboyant and androgenous.....his music still inspired me and I still loved him for him regardless of what the public said when he was alive.
@SW-User I thought his songs were great at well, and got thoroughly criticized when I bought his Purple Rain cassette, but I didn't care.

@NativePortlander1970 Exactly....to me that Purple Rain album is what hooked me on Prince.....I caught a bit of flack from people too.
