marilyn manson good god that guy is trash. Admittedly I used to love his music when I was a teenager but as an adult nope nope nope can't do it especially knowing what I know now about the man

I bet he's not alone. There are probably a few famous pos in music and film industry. People often get away with a lot if they're talented in some department.
Personally, I separate art from artists.
