What is it about music?

I see on here and in real life that many (maybe most) people are almost addicted to music, and while I have some favorites, I listen to music maybe a couple of times a month. Even then it's only in the car.

So, for you that can't live without music, what's the deal?

As necessary as food, water, or shelter. For real. If you don't feel that way, there is zero I can do to convince you.

@uncalled4 You are right and I didn't ask to be convinced, rather to understand why others seem to live for music.

@Ontheroad My point is that you do not understand, which is not meant as a put down, not in any way.

Take sports fans for example...I've played football and baseball in my time, but in no way am I moved by the game in a way that my time is spoken for every Sunday or during the playoffs, etc.

For me, music is a sign of a higher being, Perhaps you'd call it God, maybe not. But, like so many, I am able to perceive immense feelings and emotions based on sound---joy, sadness, elation, wonderment, even anger and aggression. Sometimes, I'm not even certain what exactly I feel, but I pursue it often--that's why I listen to and create music.
When I'm in the studio or playing live, I get this feeling--that this is exactly what I should be doing. I do not get that feeling at any other time.
