Never been my favourite band, but at moments, upon re-looking they offered more than the Beatles at times

and this is a more personal ode to a friend who'll never see here (belongs in real life) and he lived this life for so long, drugs, sex, who has since long become clean (to my knowledge). And the lyrics, 'what's puzzling me, is the nature of your game' is a very apt, poetic expression, simple, that encompasses so much more than can be known. And maybe I've been short in judgment before in life about the Stones, but it might be closer to the long shots who only want to write how they want to be seen.

Charlie Watts was an excellent drummer who wasted his amazing talents on inferior music. 😑
The song you selected is quite nice though.

@helenS Its one of the few Stones I do love, and even though my friend won't see it, it's a tribute to him

The Stones are probably the oldest band as in longevity of being a band with the same members. And they got along with the Beatles just fine. One thing about the Beatles is they have been broken up since 1970 but their music is still popular. Not that the stones would ever be forgotten

@kentex35 Fair, but I think misses the mark - whatever the mark is, or that rolling stone, per se.

@SW-User I just put sister morphine on a post sounds like Mick had some experience

@kentex35 What does experience mean to you?
I can see that. I have a friend who prefers them over the Beatles. Great rock n roll band. I think the Beatles branched out a little more, did more interesting stuff. Imho

@Ghostinthemachine Personally, I find the Beatles boring, cliche... but that could be said about the Stones, too. One embraced what was proper, another said, I'll decide for myself?
@SW-User I could never find the Beatles boring, especially in the context of the career and the era they came to prominence. No one at the time did what they were doing, or made the career changes they did, other than perhaps the Beach Boys.
