Dude, some musicians have an impressive number of musical pieces memorized.

I'm no musician, so maybe I'm wrong and it's half muscle memory, but all those notes and timing seem like a lot to keep track of. 🥵

Yes, but you have an impressive number of songs you can sing, right? As long as you can remember the first line or the chorus it all comes back. It's like that. They are memory strings. With an instrument I think there are differences - my fingers can move over a guitar or harp without me thinking about it for some tunes.
