Jingle Bells Declared Racist

When will this stop. A school in New York has banned singing Jingle Bells because it is racist. Apparently, it was sung at some minstrel shows during the 1800's.

@Northwest Never in my wildest dreams did I think that this post would garner this much controversy on both sides.

I saw it earlier today and was somewhat amused by the fact that this even made multiple sources in the news media today ... yes, one of them was Fox News which those of a somewhat liberal bent like to dismiss. To be fair, I'm somewhat conservative leaning and not a big fan of MSNBC.

If you look at my rare posts on here (3 total), the other two were poking fun at some of the absurdity of the responses to COVID-19.

IMHO, the fact that this even got removed from a single elementary school recital is a bit absurd. We all need to sit back and take a deep breath !!!

I think the fact that this item popped up on earlier today on a news feed that I follow was pretty absurd too !!!
