Jingle Bells Declared Racist

When will this stop. A school in New York has banned singing Jingle Bells because it is racist. Apparently, it was sung at some minstrel shows during the 1800's.

These morons need to do their research. 150 years ago was already the post Civil War/reconstruction Era. After the Civil War, minstrel shows began losing their popularity because they were already seemed as racist by the public. They were starting to be replaced by Vaudeville and Buffalo Bill Wild West shows. Also, record keeping of actual minstrel shows was pretty poor back then.

@Barefooter25 Just because a minstrel show loses popularity doesn't change where it originated from lol. The song was dedicated to a troupe that went around doing blackface as in the song's actual history. But really, nobody is censoring you from listening to it or from it being on the radio.

@SatanBurger Jingle Bells is an actual love song if you read the entire thing from top to bottom. Nothing in there about slavery. Condemning the present for the sins of the past is proof of a backwards society. 😠
