I have never been a big fan of American country music but this man is simply amazing. Amazing.
馃尫 <== flower for J.C., and may he rest in peace. Ain't no grave gonna hold his body down anyway, you know!

@JimboSaturn Isn't it cool that someone actually thought to put him in that veneiw?
Dainbramadge56-60, M
@helenS Johnny definitely left his mark for sure.

@Dainbramadge I think the grunge scene loved him because his music is so pure and really like you said, the Heavy Metal of Country.

This destroys me

@ButterRobot Johnny Cash, "Hurt": here's a problem I have with that song: it reduces me. The song is so powerful that I cannot grow with it. It's beyond my reach.

The same is true for the video. It's probably the most powerful song video that I have ever seen in my entire life. It escapes me, it makes me feel small.

Maybe you felt the same when you said "This destroys me".

@ButterRobot Here's another song about remorse and pain and no way out. "Going Home", the great Charlie Rich. 馃槩

@helenS I could have used the word "reduce" :) Whatever the terminology - it moves me deeply.

Many thanks for the link..I've added it to my Hurt playlist.

I love this song. Sang like only Johnny could sing it.
Johnny was the heavy metal of country.
I miss him. :-(

@Dainbramadge I love his version of Soundgarden's Rusty Cage!
Dainbramadge56-60, M
@JimboSaturn I have been listening to that lately. A buddy of mine made me a Johnny and Elvis CD and that is one of the songs that he put on there. Love it.
You know what they say... "when the man in black covers your song it's no longer yours".

@Dainbramadge Lol so true, I actually prefer his version now!
