This song helped freak out little 6 year old me. My sister was staying the night at a friends house, so I snuck into her room and was listening to her records. Put this song on, and I didn't know at the time what a private eye was.
My blessed/cursed overactive imagination went into hyperdrive, and I pictured these disembodied ghostly eyes that would stare at you when you were doing something bad. Of course, since I wasn't supposed to be in her room, I was doing something bad. I just KNEW they were there, watching me, judging me.
I didn't listen to anymore of her records that night
