You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left
These so-called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest

walking away from an addiction is very hard but also very simple. it all comes down to this: the only hold a drug has on you is to make you feel like shit if you don't take it. an addiction cannot control your behavior, all it can do really is make you temporarily feel like shit. if you accept this and accept that by quitting the only consequence will be that you will feel like shit for a certain amount of time then you are free. you will feel pain, sadness, restlessness, anxiety, hopelessness but these are just many forms of the same thing, just a discomfort that you must endure and one day you will be free. meditation and exercise are good tools to find a new balance within you.

@reflectingmonkey ah hippie songs eh lol

@GeorgeTBH yes, we have "get togethers" and have songs that we sing around the fire. these "get togethers" exist in almost every country and surprisingly the same songs travel from one to the other. I was at a international hippy gathering in the jungle of Colombia and they had all the same songs but in spanish.

@GeorgeTBH it was quite something, 1000 hippies hanging out in the jungle.

@GeorgeTBH in Canada they're usually about 300 to 500 people. I often cook at such gatherings.
