@boredintexas They're solid musicians. My dislike for them is more of a style thing than thinking their songs are bad. Them, Creed, uhmm...others that I can't think of right now. I just don't like that style

I'm incapable of liking Funk and Punk rock. Sex Pistols are garbage. But my most unpopular musical opinion is that David Bowie sucks, I cannot comprehend why he's so famous other than his "shock" value, musically he's so dull... Maybe the lyrics are awesome (?), but if lyrics is all you've got, go become a poet, not a musician.

@drymer Bowie was....weird. lol. I loved his music, but I do think he wouldn't have been as famous without his gimmicks and just general oddness. Sex Pistols too. Less about the music and more about the spectacle. Some don't like that, I do.

I'm into gimmicks and larger than life personas and the like.

Yes that bothers me a lot... Music should be about music imho, but then it becomes all about the lights, the costumes, etc...

@drymer Don't get me wrong, I prefer the ones who can combine the spectacle with the music talent. But sometimes a performance can bring the level up to where I'm at least enjoying myself when I wouldn't have without the spectacle.

We FULLY agree on KISS though

@fairefoutre that's the point. the 60s music was classified as just noise by those who liked the 40s, and the 40s by the 20s. It's an endless cycle. lol
