Blood in the streets it's up to my ankle, blood in the streets it's up to my knee

Blood in the streets in the town of Chicago, blood on the rise it's following me

Is that a song lyric? It looks like a song lyric to me, and it's too sinister for my liking.

@HeadGirl Yeah, it's from "Peace Frog" by the Doors. It was written in 1970 and yet the lyrics are oddly still quite true.

@BlueMetalChick I've heard the Doors but I don't think I know that song.

@HeadGirl There's a bunch of theories as to what it's about but nobody is really sure. Some people say it's about abortion but Morrison said that's false. Others think it's about crime, which makes sense because it mentions Chicago, a city with an exceptional amount of violence. And yet others believe it's about the genocide of Native Americans. Another lyric references "Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding."

@BlueMetalChick Who can tell? Jim Morrison was a strange guy by all accounts.

@HeadGirl Indeed. Talented, but very strange. He was also a heavy drug user, and I can say from experience that you think up some pretty bizarre things while high.
