Far too great a range, from melodic rock to orchestral, and the latter anything from the Baroque to Modern style eras.
Though of those, not quite so much the Classical as I find a lot of that rather too well-mannered. I prefer the Romantic and Modern (late-19 to 20C), with their rich melodies and variations.
Also folk, some jazz, blues and Rhythm-&-Blues (not to be confused with dance-club so-called "r-&-b" which has never heard a 12-bar riff or proper rhythm in its life); but the question implies slower, gentler music of whatever style. Not sure slow and gentle applies to Baroque, much of which is best summed up as Big, Bright, Brassy and Bouncy!
