Both of my brothers have children, and since my own father is gone, I always wish both of them a Happy Father's Day.

Try making the first move. Call him on Father's Day or his birthday and wish him the greetings of the day. Then invite him to meet you for lunch or dinner at a neutral spot within a week of your call; let him select the time and place. When you meet, don't discuss anything controversial.

@MaryJanine Well my sisters and I are making lunch for him tomorrow, but the get together won't really change our relationship.

Make a date for just you and Dad - no one else.

I got sent a glossy postcard from a company I buy beer kegs from saying how much my father would love some of their beer and they would give me 10% off.
My father died in 2008☹️
The 10% was tempting though😂

Thank you. My Dad died. It’s always a difficult time.
