Who's music do you like to listen to most?

nahright09 · 41-45, M
probably John Coltrane
helenS · 36-40, F
@nahright09 Wayne Sorter is very good, but he’s no Coltrane.
nahright09 · 41-45, M
@helenS he is! Great work before working with Miles when he was with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers as well as after Miles with Weather Report
helenS · 36-40, F
@nahright09 Only the first two or three WR albums are good. I know, everybody loves Jaco’s work, but to me the music (and Wayne’s playing!) on Heavy Weather is inferior. Just my 2 cents though.

Last.fm says Nightwish, I'm not surprised, I'll go with that. Darkseed, Within Temptation, Xandria, Kamelot, Flowing Tears, Sirenia.
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
It's a ties between blues, classic rock, acid jazz, hat rock, soft metal, progressive rock, and classical.
helenS · 36-40, F
@Groofydorkgerdo Progressive rock? UK 70s? King Crimson?
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
@helenS King Crimson, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Rush, ...

I appear to be the only one who enjoys classical music.

@helenS I like expressionists like Webern and Stravinsky
helenS · 36-40, F
@SW-User Two "modern" pieces I like VERY much:

(a) Schoenberg wind quintet op 26 — it's twelve tone music, so not really expressionistic; I like its cheerfulness, its merriment;

(b) Schoenberg "Pierrot Lunaire" - definitely expressionistic to the power of three.

Oh, and Alban Berg's "Woyzek" (1914) - I am almost sure you know this, and like it.

Probably a tie between Rush and Neal Morse. (Also currently my own music as I'm working on a solo album 😁)
rjc36 · 61-69, M
That's a tough questions because I enjoy all kinds of music. For today I will go with classical.

What sort of a question is that? It doesn't make sense.
SW-User
@NankerPhelge think you need to 're read the question
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@SW-User I have just re-read it. It still says "Who is music do you like to listen to most?". Please explain how that makes sense.
SW-User
