50 odd years of listening to music and I can honestly say I can't think of a single song/tune/piece of music that was 'improved' because some greedy 'producer' decided to remix it.

@Picklebobble2 I can give you a great example, and that is when the German industrial rock band KMFDM remixed a song called "Straight to Video" by a shitty EDM group named Mindless Self Indulgence. They made it SO much better.
But you're correct, good remixes are extremely hard to come across. Usually it's a good song turned bad, or a bad song that stays bad. Very seldom does something start bad and get better from a remix.

Back in 1984 a group in the UK made a song that their producer remixed about 10 times !
The original song (that HE wrote btw !) was banned by the BBC radio stations because they didnt like it's implied sexual references.
So it became a real money spinner !
I've never trusted producers ever since !
