Can anyone recommend some older metal bands for me?

Pretty much down for anything! I’ve heard quite a bit but some artists I haven’t sat down and really listened to. I like going through a band’s entire discography before I form an opinion on them! I’m very indecisive tonight and I’m getting tired of the same old same old!

@ImTheOne I mean I played in band for 8 years but that’s about it. I’ve been wanting to pick up the drums again for years now

Motorhead, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, AC/DC

@liondog Iron Maiden is hands down my favorite band haha. Megadeth I’ve listened too but the others... other than most of AC/DC’s earlier material I haven’t heard. Think one Motorhead album and two? Black Sabbath albums. Might sit down and listen to some though

Depends on what kind of metal you are into. Between the buried and me has a large catalog, Dream Theater is good but more of... I don't, maybe glam metal (train of thought is amazing though). There are tons of newer bands that are awesome though. I've been listening to Crystal Lake - Apollo non stop for about 2 weeks now.

@Icantsoishant I don’t know where to start with newer metal. I don’t care for screamo. Just a personal preference. Think the heaviest I can get into was Pantera. But Dream Theater... I might consider them

@nadine I had to brush up before the concert haha! I’ve been through them all but I’m always down to listen to them again! And again... and again 😂

@SW-User I haven’t kept up with AC/DC haha. Think Fly On The Wall was the last one really before I fell off completely. I’ve always been a fan of Bon Scott as compared to Brian Johnson

Extreme are great. Bettencourt is a master!
Throger · 26-30, M
@Somerset I’ve never heard of this band! And now curiousity strikes!!

This guy covers some solos note for note. Good quality, great stuff.

@nadine Ozzy is like what Rob is to me. I always preferred Rob Zombie in White Zombie and always thought Ozzy was better in Black Sabbath but I need to listen to both discographies to get a better taste of it. That honestly might be what I listen to tonight!

I’ll take your word for it! Diary Of A Madman and Bark At The Moon are the only albums I listened to all the way through

As of late I’ve been seeing myself lean towards power metal. Halloween, Manowar and Iced Earth. Haven’t heard much from any of those bands but I’m definitely into it
