Older music seems better because everyone has forgotten about the crappy newer songs

Am I right?

Damn straight. The music of today is horrible.

Beyond horrible. The Grammy nominations - ugh.

I am reminded of a quote from writer Gore Vidal:

"It is no longer enough to be untalented."
@Byron8by7 Yeppers.. I only listen to classic rock, or country. Mostly from the 80s.

I edited my previous post.

I enjoy '70s classic rock. I like Rush. Jazz and classical of many kinds.
@Byron8by7 I like earlier music also. Even doo wop from the early 60s, and early 50s. Many genres to listen to

Indeed. I used to live in a university town and I had the opportunity to see many great artists from many genres. See my profile - I have some favorites in my "Stories."

@JustLikeGreta The times when music was original, innocent and organic. Yes

A few I saw:

Vladimir Horowitz

Emmy Lou Harris - her hair was long and very dark

Heart - 1976 - before they were widely famous

Eberhard Weber and Colours - my favorite concert

Little Feat

Miles Davis

Keith Jarrett - he was brilliant, but a total jerk

Kronos Quartet - many times, they played world premieres of several works

@Byron8by7 That's so awesome!

Yes. Those are just a few, off the top of my head.

In the early '70s, I was able to see many rock bands of the era.
