I play only by ear and can play in C, F, G and F# WITHOUT transposing
Incidntaly, were you aware that Irvin Berlin wrote ONLY in F# and had an assignment who would transpose the music into a singable key?
I heard that a couple years ago and it knocked me for a loop!
I heard it again recently which dispelled any question about the accuracy of the FACT!
BTW, when people say "true fact" it is not an accurate statement since there is no such thing as a FALSE FACT!😄🤓🌞
