I Love Playing the Piano

Very good. I was just curious if would you say Czerny - that's my favorite composer - I love most of his repertory!

I play only by ear and can play in C, F, G and F# WITHOUT transposing
Incidntaly, were you aware that Irvin Berlin wrote ONLY in F# and had an assignment who would transpose the music into a singable key?
I heard that a couple years ago and it knocked me for a loop!
I heard it again recently which dispelled any question about the accuracy of the FACT!
BTW, when people say "true fact" it is not an accurate statement since there is no such thing as a FALSE FACT!😄🤓🌞

Docdon have you played yet Prokofiev's 3rd piano concerto? A tough one to master I bet, I love that piece. My first piece of classical music I heard as a child from the movie "The Competition" and it has stuck with me since. It gives me chills. I'd like to hear you play Clair De Lune too!

I never had the desire to play but I've grown up in a musical family. My best talent is singing and I can imitate different singers. My father could play anything and sing, very talented.

I envy you. I'm out of practice right now, but I play bass and guitar, but I've always wished I could play keyboards.

Oh wow, wonderful! Yeah you'd really need a full orchestra for the Prokofiev's piece, even castanets lol.

I like the newer stuff like the theme from Forrest Gump.

mguinm--no, I do not play that piece, but I have played the Grieg Piano Concerto and Beethoven's Emperor Concerto...and have dabbled with Rachmaninoff's and Tchaikovsky's piano concertos! I do need an orchestra, though...

SimplyTracie--I do play movie theme music--Forest Gump and many more, and some Broadway and some classic rock--but classical is my favorite

Chopin, Scriabin, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Debussy--love them all!!
