Learning Piano.. Should one invest in a Piano or being a beginner should learn on a keyboard 🎹.. Would learning be easier on either one of them?

About a year ago, I asked a recently graduated music major about that. He said modern velocity sensitive keyboards have something pretty close to the feel and sound of a real piano. Additional advantage: you can send the sound to headphones only, so nobody else has to hear your mistakes.
