Accordions and bagpipes both annoy me

Not so much an instrument, as a certain combination: the Bass Drum and Glockenspiel.
I have no idea where this dreadful mismatch originated.
I recall it from amateur marching-bands, dressed in fancy outfits suggesting the Beatles' Sgt Pepper LP sleeve, in the annual, large Carnival processions our town used to have.
I don't think they had other instruments - maybe the odd trumpet or two, perhaps a side-drum or so - but if you think Drum-and-Bass bad, don't go near that enthusiastic -
- Boom-Boom-Tinkle-Tinkle-Boom-Jingly-Jangle-Boom..... -
- of two or three bass drums and several high-pitched glockenspiels!

Not that I can think of, but it all depends on the competence of the person playing the instrument. IF you consider the human voice an instrument, then I do not like the artificiality of the classic operatic voice.

Vuvuzelas…those instruments they blow during soccer games when a team scores or wins. Yikes, that drives me up a wall to hear that.

SOME instruments are made to play in concert with other instruments, and don't sound good all alone. The Octobass is one of them. But all bass cellos are NOT meant to be played without an orchestra.

Nope. Imo any instrument has the potential to sound good. Usually it depends more on the style of music as to whether or not it sounds pleasant.

Not keen on slide guitar, but there are exceptions. Artists like David Gilmour and Steve Howe make it sound very avant-garde.

@CrazyMusicLover But what about that guy in Hawaii that plays Uke with his teeth, that was pretty fun to watch.

@JamesBugman I haven't seen that.

Played poorly, or out of tune; large piano accordians test the limits of sanity.

Bongos work great on kamala videos
