Oh yeah, monkey island. Thats near me

They are used for lab animals. My ex’s brother caught one in rural area south of here when he was returning home from a fishing trip. He saw this monkey running down the rode. He stopped and made a lasso from a rope he had in his truck. Drove up to the monkey and threw the lasso. Took a several times because the monkey kept removing the lasso before he got to him. He finally succeeded and tied the monkey up. There was a rural convenience store down the road, very busy store. He stopped there and asked if anyone had lost a monkey lately, that he found one and captured it. The people started saying that they were having problems with their window screen being removed and the monkey trying to get in and another said he was getting into his barn at night and scaring his livestock. They thought it was a good thing he was caught. I don’t know if that monkey had escaped from a lab or if it had been adopted by someone after being released from a lab and escaped. But the brother-in-law brought it home, built a cage and kept it outdoors. He named him Jo-Jo. Jo-Jo was an escape artist and would sometimes get out. One day he walked into the neighbor’s house and went inside and sat on top of her kitchen table. Started eating the garden tomatoes she had on the table to ripen. The lady got scared and gathered up her children and walked to the gas station-store down the road and told the cashier about it. He knew the number of my father-in-law and called, my mother-in-law was at home and he told her to find her son and come and get the monkey out of that woman’s house. My mother-in-law didn’t drive but she called me. Asked if I knew where he was working (he was working in construction with my husband) and I told her yes they were working down the road on a house about a half-mile away. So I drove over there and asked him if he knew where his monkey was. He said he should be in his cage. I said “Nope, he’s sitting on the kitchen table of your neighbor and eating her tomatoes, she got scared and went to the gas station and the cashier called your mother and she called me”. So he left work and captured the monkey. Built him a bigger & stronger cage at his dad & mom’s house and he lived there several years till he died.

They have large fangs and can be very dangerous. My brother-in-law was the only person Jo-Jo respected. He knew how to talk to him and catch him. Nobody else could If they get loose and roam free they can be hell on wheels.
