I saw it in a big classy theatre about two months after it was released. They had been showing it 24/7 and the seats were in tatters and the floor so sticky it almost tore your shies off. Gets my vote for the only good Star Wars movie and the second best George Lucas movie, after American Graffiti.

That’s cool. It must have been quite an experience to watch it when it was new.

@Talesfromthedarkside In my memory, absolutely. If I'm being reasonable, the sound system in drive-ins sucked hard back then. It was the days of the little speaker that you attached to your window - it sounded tinny and crackled quite a bit.
But like I said, I was hooked. I can't count how many times I've watched them. And unlike a lot of Star Wars fans my age, I guess, I don't hate the prequels. They have a lot of problems, for sure, but I don't hate on them like a lot of others seem to.
I also still clearly remember the "big reveal" from Empire Strikes Back. One of the kids in my neighborhood spoiled it for a lot of us, but i didn't believe him.
