They're only trying to push their version of Christianity into US schools. There's plenty of versions with more compassion, less rule based, open to intellectual inquiry… in fact more in line with what Jesus Christ taught than what they espouse. Jesus had a lot to say about religious people who tie other people up in legalistic knots and care nothing for justice or the poor.
