Wuthering Heights movie

This past weekend I went to watch the new Wuthering Heights movie. I reread the book recently and was really excited about watching the movie. I saw an interview with the Director and she said it was a different interpretation.. It sure was. No need to read the book.
I still thought it was pretty good. The scenes of the landscapes were amazing and it was about an intense and destructive relationship..

Anyone else go watch? Planning to watch?
What did you think?

I overheard a customer at work today saying she was going to see it and that it had been described as '50 Shades of Bronte'.

@RodneyTrotter1 yup, yup, I can see that lol

@LavidaRaq Would you recommend them to a man? Good films seem few and far between nowadays, it's all sci fi or fantasy so I'm wide open to recommendations 🙂

@RodneyTrotter1 Depends on what kind of movies you like. But, I think you should watch it. It’s not like the book. Not really. So it stands alone. A wonderful toxic love story.

@LavidaRaq I enjoy anything apart from sci fi, zombie/werewolf horrors or (no offence intended) American comedy.
I think I'll give the 2009 version a go then watch the new one to compare them.

@RodneyTrotter1 I’m not really into SciFi either, yet can’t wait to watch Project Hail Mary. Heard the audiobook and it was really good. As for Wuthering Heights they will differ quite a bit I’m thinking. This new one doesn’t follow the book.

@LavidaRaq Apparently the 2011 version is the most believable so I might watch that instead of the 2009 one.
Just googled Project Hail Mary, it sounds like good escapism for those who are into sci fi. Perhaps I should give that genre another chance.

@RodneyTrotter1 if you have audible, listen to the book. It’s Soo good.

@LavidaRaq I've never listened to an audio book so, as they say, no time like the present! I'll look audible and give it a try. Thanks for the idea 🙂
