The In Between (2022)
I'm not much of a Romcom or Romance genre fan, but I do have to compromise on the selection every now and again.
I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. Every romance movie has the standard 'meet-lose-get' story arch, but this one threw a bit of a spin on that blueprint.
My first impression was that I wasn't sure if Joey King was the right person casted for the role... I would have thought someone like Hailee Steinfeld, Elle Fanning, or even Sadie Sink would have fitted the role better. But I was again brought to see a new side of Joey's acting talents.
Anyways, I don't want to spoil it for you if you haven't watched it as yet... but it definitely get's the thumbs up and slow clap from me.
And if there's another romance genre that always stood out for me, it is "The Best of Me" (2014).
