It was a nice and sunny morning here today, but clouds are rolling in and some rain is expected later on in the early evening. Breezes were light and inconsistent but I decided to take my kite out anyways.
After about 45 minutes of having the kite go part way up and then fall back to earth, I finally got some sustained breezes that allowed the newer Chinese Dragon kite to make its inaugural flight.
I was able to get out about 175’ of line and the kite remained aloft high in the sky for about 15 minutes before the breezes settled yet again.
I was forced to reel it back in rather quickly to avoid it diving into the 3 small trees it had drifted up and over.
Despite it being such a short time in the air, I’m choosing to call it a successful attempt.
@SleepingWithGhosts I like the rain too. Especially summer rain when it's warm. It's supposed to be about 75 degrees out later when it starts here and I'll probably go for a walk in it.
