Just finished an excellent Netflix series called Toxic Town. The weird stuff going on was that a cluster of women in the same town were giving birth to babies with various deformities. Turns out a company was completely ignoring safety regulations, allowing toxins to leak into the soil and water supply. And the city council was looking the other way.
