@SW-User Medical researchers are also finding out that certain medications are blunting empathy in those who are taking them. It’s not just anti-depressants but also things like some OTC cold meds and OTC allergy meds. I have to wonder how many people may be getting their empathy wiped out due to medications.

@SW-User isn’t it something that so many medications have such adverse side effects and then require more medications with more side effects. I had an aunt who was getting 25 prescriptions filled each month plus at least 15 OTC meds. The doctors knew but no one would manage her health properly, they’d all sit with a prescription pad and write out more prescriptions. And she was not an isolated case, I’ve heard this from others that their parent was taking at least this many meds. Lucky if they find a new doctor who straightens them out and gets them down to a few.

@cherokeepatti been there done that 🙄...taking much less when I switched a pill pushing doctor for a different one many years ago

@SW-User I am very reserved about going to a doctor now. The one I have it’s been about 4-5 years, he always wants to prescribe steroids for asthma. I research and find natural solutions to that....high quality fish oil, magnesium supplements, and other things such as avoiding cooking oils and too much sugar that can cause inflammation & making sure I eat enough green veggies. Steroids have so many side effects it frightens me. I had a cat that had problems & the vet gave her steroid shots twice & she ended up swelled up, had a number of kidney infections, became a diabetic & then got a tumor & died.

@cherokeepatti yes steriods will do that ..supplements are great though

@SW-User I went to a little health screening event at Sam’s Club a few months later and told the nurse that the doctor wanted to put me on steroids for asthma & that I was using natural things to treat it. She looked at me and said “you don’t want to be on steroids, it will blow you up good”....I said “yeah I know’ and told her about my cat. Doctor’s will push them though cause they get bonuses from pharmaceutical companies if they get people to take a lot of meds from their companies.
