I Am Obsessed With "Rent" the Musical

It's my favourite musical. I'd kill to see it live on Broadway! One day, I keep telling myself. :3

Do you know the background story regarding the writer? Very sad. He died like 2 weeks before it premiered on Broadway.

@4thdimensiondream: Yeah, I heard. It's really sad, and for his work to be (at least in my eyes) one of the best pieces of musical theatre ever.. :(

I've seen Wicked twice. That is my favorite show. Also Beautiful was fantastic. I hated Lion King! LOL. I live in NJ so I get to see a few Bway shows every year.

@4thdimensiondream: A straight guy can love musicals. No shame in that. I've made by brothers sit through enough musicals for them to become nulled to them, if not even enjoy them xD

My Dad was a musician so I've been around music since before I was born. I'm not a huge fan of Movie musicals. I just find it weird sometimes. For example West Side Story. You have these tough gangs doing Ballet during a street fight. I did love Sound of Music because that was about a musical family so the singing scenes made perfect sense.

@4thdimensiondream: Sound of Music has kinda dated with time, especially with its treatment of a lot of the female characters and their relationship with guys. But I still love it.

Keep in mind it was taking place late 30's. But i definitely understand.
