Fantastic British Comedy

It's hard to express the impact of 'Monty Python' on people these days - lots of humour have had that zany flavour in recent years - but, back then, in the late 60's/early 70's I'm sure it was pretty ground-breaking.

I say that because I was introduced to Python via my dad who'd video tape the episodes off of TV, when it was on late on Saturday nights so I'm led to believe, back in the early 80's in the UK. I was too young then (probably about 5 or 6) but I came through that style of comedy thanks to that wonderful duo of Ade and Rick of 'Bottom' - Classic British comedy.

Trawling back through 'The Young Ones', 'Black Adder' and 'The Kenny Everett TV Show' I found myself back to the source, 'Monty Python'.

As a 14/15 year old it was complete surreal mayhem! Far more disordered than these later shows but a whole sensory giggle experience.

Well written, inspired and always takes me back to my teen years.

They'll never be anything like Monty Python ever again.
