I'm inexperienced in the kitchen...

...I wanted to try someting new so I bought a little creme brulee dessert from Aldi.
Never had creme brulee.
The instructions say to broil it in the oven, if you don't have a torch.
I hit broil, walked away for a minute, assuming the oven needed to preheat.
Then I came back to put the creme brulee in. I opened the oven and was like, what the hell is that light
💡 now I know what a broiler is

Ahhh a torched creme brulee! 😋 I still remember the first time enjoying one of those, many moons ago in a long-gone DC restaurant.

There's a first time for everything, and we gotta learn at some point.
😂 The only setting higher than broil is self-clean. A minute longer, and your brule would be a cindered nugget.

Go for the torch next time👍
