"People won't lose their healthcare. They just have to work for it!"

So you mean work sets you free? Or should I say Arbeit Macht Frei? Welcome to (Alligator) Auschwitz!

And then the comment sections on videos about that concentration camp are riddled with people not finding nothing but a bunkbed in a cage in 90 degree weather cruel enough. They actually call for prisoners to be denied food, participate in televised cage fights and for them to be fed to the alligators on a live stream.

They're literally asking for The Hunger Games, a series meant as a warning, not inspiration.

I hope I will never understand that kind of hatred and blood lust, let alone over nothing more than allegedly not having the right paperwork to be in a country or that being withdrawn over having stolen a piece of bubblegum 50 years ago.

Bee tee dubs, Kristi Noem said that the alligators are "guaranteed at least 65 million meals."

There are 65 million Hispanics living in America. She's not talking about illegal immigrants, she's talking about Americans with Hispanic ancestry.

This is how genocide works in modern Fascism. It's not Hispanics, it's just illegal immigrants, but all Hispanics are illegal immigrants. It's not queer people, it's just groomers, but all queer people are groomers. It's not Palestinians, it's just Hamas, but all Palestinians are Hamas.
@NerdyPotato If Mamdani gets arrested, America is beyond cooked.

Arbeit Macht Frei sounds about right these days... especially sandwiched between the attitude that disabled people MUST work - no matter what and the idea that everyone will be working until the age of 74 before they can retire.

We are entering a time where paying into a state pension is no longer value for money for a lot of people - because they won't live for long enough to benefit from their contributions... yet, we have no way to opt out of it because they need the money to pay the current generation of retirees.

Meanwhile, there will come a time when the savvy will wake up at a younger age and plan and save to retire younger - then we will have the "publicly retired" and the "privately retired" population. That's going to be interesting when the government realises that they're not getting enough taxes in to pay the boomers their pensions anymore - especially when the boomers are already complaining that they don't get enough to live on... and this is only the first cohort of boomers. The second wave of retiring boomers are only just starting to reach retirement age now.

In Canada, your Healthcare is not dependent on your employment status.

My GOD! So in other words, if you don't work, you don't deserve to live. Did someone say this?

@iamthe99 the fact that nobody who works 20 hours a week won't be kicked off is one of the most popular defenses of the bill. Most people don't literally say you don't deserve to live if you work less, but it essentially boils down to that.
So if you need your healthcare because you’re disabled and can’t work—or can no longer work because you’re very elderly, then…?
@bijouxbroussard exactly!
"I'm not in this timeline, I'm not in this timeline, I'm not in this time line..."
@greensnacks I wish I could believe that too, but I seem to be anyway. And I truly don't understand how so many people can be like that...
@NerdyPotato if we think strong enough, we can change it together!

@OogieBoogie What is sub human about being deported? I have empathy for people who come here legally . Where is the empathy for ice agents being shot at ? Where is the empathy for parents whose children are being killed by illegals? Laken Riley and others ,apt complexes taken over in colorado .These non Americans only see what the corrupt news media in the us want them to see Obama did more in humane things and deported more people and no one said a word . The biased news media are pushing lies to the rest of the world. Do you seriously believe that people are being fed to alligators in Florida?
@kodiac same old rare occasions to "defend" blanket measures as every comment of yours 🥱 Either just say out loud you're racist or really defend your position with actual arguments based on facts.
