Omg, omg, omg! New Hunger Games book coming in March 2025!

The first 4 were already such good commentary on current events and it sounds like the 5th one is going to be even better.

“With ‘Sunrise on the Reaping,’ I was inspired by David Hume’s idea of implicit submission and, in his words, ‘the easiness with which the many are governed by the few,’” Collins said in a statement. “The story also lent itself to a deeper dive into the use of propaganda and the power of those who control the narrative. The question ‘Real or not real?’ seems more pressing to me every day.”

tell us why you enjoy the storyline--what, for you, is the appeal ?
@robertsnj it gives good insight in problematic concepts in the real world and how that status-quo is maintained. It covers classism, oppression, apartheid, immoral warfare, etc. It even describes tactics used in Gaza and other genocides.

That makes it disturbing to read comments on videos and articles every time a new movie comes out, where people are just looking forward to more violence in the arena. The games themselves are merely a tool to explain how it could fairly easily get that far in the real world, but most readers/watchers seem to completely miss that.

But there's also a lot of tiny details, Easter eggs and very subtle foreshadowing. Every time you read them, you'll find something new.
