Movie Review - Saint Maud
A really great psychological horror from 2019 about a delusional carer who believes she’s been sent by God to save the soul of her new patient, a now retired and quite sickly professional dancer, but jealously soon takes hold…
It centres a lot around the idea of fanaticism begetting madness, and it’s played perfectly by our female protagonist, Maud.
A really great horror - no jump scares or monsters; just a slow burn psychological horror with a handful of understated but effective performances.
Oh, and a pretty grim end.
Score: 8/10
Spook Factor: 6/10
