A horror movie from 2022 I don’t see mentioned very often. Watched it recently and here are my thoughts.
The first hour is very intriguing. The movie doesn’t let you settle on whether the male protagonist is good or bad, and it makes all his interactions with the female protagonist suspect.
And then the 2nd half of the movie totally changes gear; from mystery/thriller to a more familiar monster movie, à la Hills Have Eyes or Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Worth a watch if you’re looking for something new, but be prepared for disappointment in the 2nd half if you’re hoping for consistent themes. I will say there’s an unintentionally hilarious scene near the end with a crazy extra character. No spoilers!
