Stephen King adaptations

Too many try to adapt Mr King's books, it rarely works out, i pity the person who only sees his work through the silver screen. The books are ALIVE and pulsate, you get to know the characters so well then. The best imo of the movies based on his work were directorial visions - the big 3 by Stanley Kubrick, Brian De Palma, and John Carpenter ....:)

I do strongly disagree, about which adaptions of Stephen King's writings to screen have been the "best". So does Mr. King.

@Piper I know he hated Kubrick's rendering, .... but imo nothing can compare to the books so a good movie to me at least must take liberties :)

@SW-User Only a relative few screen adaptions of his books, novellas or short stories have "compared' in a really positive sort of way, to me.
