Stephen King adaptations

Too many try to adapt Mr King's books, it rarely works out, i pity the person who only sees his work through the silver screen. The books are ALIVE and pulsate, you get to know the characters so well then. The best imo of the movies based on his work were directorial visions - the big 3 by Stanley Kubrick, Brian De Palma, and John Carpenter ....:)

They did a good job with The Stand and The Shining. Under the Dome was an insult to a great book.
Under The Dome was not one of King’s better books and I did not bother with the series. The Simpsons Movie was a better Under The Dome than Under The Dome. 🤣@Burnley123

@DukeOfEarle I enjoyed the book but was massively dosappointed with the series.
That’s common. I felt the same way with The Stand. @Burnley123

@DukeOfEarle I liked both woth The Stand. You are the purists purist.
I mentioned above I did try watching it again. And on a second viewing I didn’t dislike it as much as I did on the first viewing. There is always going to be something missing from an adaptation from book to screenplay and I am OK with that. I think overall there were a few mis-cast actors or maybe the direction could have been stronger. It’s not by any means terrible. They’re giving it another go...whenever the world restarts. @Burnley123
I was just looking at IMDB for the reboot and the cast looks amazing! Take a peek when you get time. @Burnley123
